Thurston Moore Bio

Thurston Moore is a singer, songwriter, and guitar player born in 1958 in Coral Gables, Florida. He is better known for his work in rock band Sonic Youth, a project he endured for more than 30 years while also making a solo career. His solo debut came in 1994 under the name Psychic Hearts with the aid of Tim Foljahn from Half Japanese and Steve Shelley from Sonic Youth. In 2012 he made a collaborative album called YOKOKIMTHURSTON with Yoko Ono and his then ex-wife Kim Gordon. After two more albums and a single featured in a U.S. presidential campaign, 2017's event Rock n’ Roll Consciousness, saw Moore teaming up with a high-profile group consisting of former bandmate drummer Steve Shelley, Deb Googe from My Bloody Valentine, and James Sedwards from Nought. In 2020 Moore released his sixth album By The Fire.
