Tiago Splitter Bio

Tiago Splitter is a former Brazilian professional basketball player, born on January 1, 1985, in Blumenau, Brazil. He has played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for seven seasons. Tiago is the first player born in Brazil to win an NBA championship, in 2014, as a member of the San Antonio Spurs under coach Gregg Popovich and alongside teammate Tim Duncan. He began his professional career at the age of 14 with the Brazilian team Ipiranga and played in Spain before joining the NBA. He is a three-time All-EuroLeague Team, three-time Spanish Cup winner, Spanish League MVP, and two-times Spanish Super Cup MVP. The Brazilian power forward/center announced his retirement on February 19, 2018. After that, he started working with the NBA team Brooklyn Nets as a player development coach.
