Tigirlily Bio

Tigirlily, pronounced as Tie-Girl-Lilly, is a North Dakota country duo of Kendra and Krista Slaubaugh, from Hazen, North Dakota. Growing up in a home where singing was encouraged, Kendra kicked off her career in 2010. She began uploading videos on YouTube and singing at Hazen’s Music in the Park. Soon after, Krista joined in.

The two started doing what they called kitchen covers, where they record themselves singing songs like Phillip Phillips’ “Home” while sitting in their kitchen. They released their first video, “Just Another Pretty Face,” with friends and music teacher Chris Harvey. At 16 and 14, respectively, the Slaubaugh sisters formed Tigirlily in 2013. They released their breakthrough song “North Dakota” with a video produced by The Creative Treatment, a Bismarck production company, and filmed at the Peace Gardens.

Within a few years, the girls were touring locally and posting recordings to YouTube. The group continued to consolidate a fan base through social media, landing plum gigs, and opening for Justin Moore, Chris Janson, and LeAnn Rimes. They announced a deal with Monument Records on March 12, 2021. By July, they released their eponymous EP featuring songs they co-wrote with Walker Hayes, Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne, and Zarni deVette.
