Tim Montana is a singer and songwriter from the United States. The Boston Red Sox used his tune "This Beard Came Here to Party" (co-written with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top) as the theme song for their 2013 post-season run.
Tim Montana and the Shrednecks was formed in 2013 by Montana, guitarist Kyle Rife, drummer Brian Wolff, and bassist Bryce Paul. Montana met Billy Gibbons, the founder of ZZ Top, during a studio session on September 11, 2013.
The two co-wrote and recorded the tune "This Beard Came Here to Party" during their spontaneous songwriting collaboration.
During the run-up to the 2004 World Series, the Boston Red Sox (renowned at the time for their playoff beards) adopted the song as their anthem.
