Timothy Robbins was born on October 16, 1958 in West Covina, California. Son of folk singer Gil Robbins, Tim started his acting in the Theater as a teenager and later developed a well-rounded career in film. He served as an acclaimed actor in films such as The Shawshank Redemption (1994), Mystic River (2003), The Secret Life of Words (2005), and Cinema Verite (2011). Along with acting, Robbins is an award-winning director and screenwriter with Bob Roberts (1992), Dead Man Walking (1995) and Cradle Will Rock (1999) receiving praise and several awards which include an academy award nomination. Outside the film industry, he has talents as a musician, singing and guitar playing in a rock album 25 year in the making titled Tim Robbins and The Rogues Gallery Band which resulted in a world tour.
