Tiwa Savage Bio
Tiwatope Savage Balogun, better known as Tiwa Savage, is a bi-lingual Lagos-born singer, songwriter, performer, actress, and philanthropist currently signed with Mavin Records. Her sound is a mixture of Afro-Pop, Hip Hop, and R&B. The songstress also has degrees in both Business Administration and Accounts, and Professional Music.
Prior to making it as a solo artist, Savage sang back-up vocals for the likes of George Michael, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan, and Kelly Clarkson. Savage began writing songs at age fifteen, and spent years doing this professionally prior to taking the big step to solo artist with her 2013 debut album, Once Upon A Time. Hit singles include “Kele Kele Love,” “Without My Heart,” and “Ife Wa Gbona.”
Savage is the first African-American to be endorsed by Pepsi. She also co-hosted the second season of Nigerian Idol in 2011.
