TJ Thyne (born March 7, 1975 in Boston, Massachusetts) is a TV actor, best known for his portrayal of Dr. Jack Hodgins on the television series Bones from 2005 to 2017, and for portraying Jason Girard during Season 4 of 24. He is the brother of TV producer, Tone Thyne.
TJ Thyne was a part of the theater program at USC, later co-founding Theatre Junkies, which brought fellow actors together. He appeared in several episodes of the television series Angel (a spin-off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer). He briefly appeared in the film Erin Brockovich, which starred Julia Roberts.
After graduating from East Ridge Middle School in Ridgefield, Connecticut, Thyne moved south to Texas, where he finished high school in Plano. He then attended college at the USC School of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, graduating in 1997. Through college, he worked as an extra in films, including "Forrest Gump", which filmed at USC, and in student produced plays.
He began his acting career right after graduating. Through his career, he has appeared in several shows including Friends (alongside Patrick Fabian), Walker, Texas Ranger (alongside Peter Onorati and François Chau), Angel, NCIS (alongside Pauley Perrette, Michael Gaston, and Francesco Quinn), Boston Legal, and The O.C. (Alongside Alan Dale).
