Toby Onwumere Bio
Toby Onwumere is an American Nigerian actor who was born on February 1, 1990, in Nigeria but was raised in Mansfield, Texas. He studied acting at the University of California San Diego, where he got his MFA. He began his career as a theatre actor when he played Macduff in the play Macbeth with Santa Cruz Shakespeare, with whom he also played Cleton in The Liar. He debuted on tv in 2012 when he appeared on an episode of the tv series “The Book of Dallas”. He jumped to fame when he became part of the famous Netflix production “Sense8”, where he plays Capheus Onyango sporadically between 2016 and 2018. During 2018 and 2019 he played Kai in the tv series “Empire”. He has also participated in 2020’s movie “Thorp” alongside Otoja Abit, Kim Blanck, and Alice Callahan.
