Todd Snider was born on October 11, 1966 in Portland, Oregon. He ran away from home at 15 and eventually found his way to Santa Rosa, California, where he learned to play harmonica. In the mid 1980s, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee and began to perform a the Daily Planet Club, where he was discovered by Keith Sykes, a member of Jimmy Buffett‘s Coral Reefer Band.
Snider’s 1994 debut album was named “Songs from the Daily Planet” in honor of the bar where he got his start in Nashville. Snider has released multiple albums from 1994 to as recent as 2016 with his current band, Hard Working Americans. His highest chart position single was the 1994 release “Talkin’ Seattle Grunge Rock Blues.”
