Tom Chaplin is an English rock performer best known as the frontman for the British pop band Keane. In their career, Keane charted consistently worldwide in the years 2003-2013, garnering awards including ASCAP, Brit, GQ, and nominated for a couple Grammys besides. Keane has been on hiatus since 2014, with a hint the band may not reform, in part because Chaplin wanted to focus on his family. In the meantime, he’s launched a solo career.
Tom Chaplin released his solo debut “The Wave” (2016) still signed to Island records, the home label of Keane. He toured the album in the US, UK, EU, and Canada. In 2017 he released “Twelve Tales of Christmas” with covers of popular Yuletide songs including “Walking in the Air,” which was also famously recorded by British megastar Cliff Richard. Chaplin has toured modestly and collaborated here and there, but is also more focused on personal matters lately.
