Tom Kapinos was born on July 12, 1969 in Levittown, New York. He is an American television writer and screenwriter. In the middle of the 1990s, he moved from New York to Los Angeles, California to work as a screenplay before he produced his first screenplay, The Virgin Mary, in 1999 and it was picked up by Fox Studios. He was also a writer for the popular teenage drama Dawson’s Creek from 1999 to 2003. Kapinos later went on to create the TV series Californication and Lucifer, which gained him a lot of popularity in the early 2000s. He was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Californication in 2007 and two PGA Awards for being an outstanding producer (2007 and 2010).
