Tom Thum is an English beatboxer, performer, and YouTube personality. He was born on the 2nd of April, 1985, in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Before being a YouTuber, Thum was a graffiti artist. He started his YouTube channel in May 2006 with the video “Tom Thum- Click Rolls & Some Morse Code” which got over 67 000 views. From there on, he continued broadcasting videos about his particular way of beatboxing. He is known for pushing the limits of his voice to create incredible sounds that seem impossible to make with only a mouth. In 2013, he performed “The orchestra in my mouth” at a TedX Talk in Sydney and in 2018 he performed again in a Ted Talk only this time joined on stage by Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon, Dr Matthew Broadhurst, who explained the title of the talk “What happens in your throat when you Beatbox?”.
