Tombs is an American metal band formed in 2007 in Brooklyn, New York. The group was initially formed as a collaboration between Mike Hill, Dominic Seita, and Justin Ennis. The past and present members of the group are Andrew Hernandez II (2009 – 2014), Benjamin Brand (2013 – 2017), Carson Daniel James (2009 – 2012), Charlie Schmid (2014 – 2017), Dominic Seita (2007 – 2008), Drew Murphy (2018 – present), Evan Schaefer (2014 – 2017), Fade Kainer (2014 – 2016), Garrett Bussanick (2013 – 2014), Justin Ennis (2007 – 2009), Justin Spaeth (2018 – present), Matt Medeiros (2018 – present) and Mike Hill (2007 – present).
In 2007 they released Tombs, their two-song EP. Their first full-length effort Winter Hours came in 2009. Their acclaimed album Path of Totality appeared in 2011 and was produced by John Congleton. Savage Gold followed in 2014 and was produced by Eric Rutan. 2017’s savage The Grand Annihilation is the group’s biggest material which also landed a deal with Season of Mist in 2019. Tombs also released Shadows of EP later in the same year. All three full-length were released through Relapse.
The group has released five full-length records: Winter Hours, Path of Totality, Savage Gold, The Grand Annihilation, and Under Sullen Skies.
