Tommy Tiernan is an Irish comedian, actor, and writer born in Carndonagh, Ireland on June 16, 1969. He is best known for his work as a co-presenter on the radio show The Tommy and Hector Show on i102-104FM and for his appearance on the sitcom Father Ted. Tommy has released eight stand up comedy DVDs, Cracked, Ok Baby, Stray Sod, Tommy Tiernan Live, Loose, Crooked Man, Jokerman, and Bovinity. He has made appearances and landed roles in television shows and movies like Father Ted, The Late Late Show, Late Show with David Letterman, Small Potatoes, Derry Girls, Laughs in the Park, Lee Mack Show, The Tommy Tiernan Show, The Matchmaker, and others. In 2009 he set the Guinness World Record for the longest stand up comedy show by a comedian for his 36 hours and 15 minute performance at Nuns Island in Galway. That same year the record was broken by the Australian comedian Lindsay Webb. Tiernan has won several awards, including a People of the Year Award, a Perrier Comedy Award, a British Comedy Award, an Orange People Choice Award, and A Nokia Best of the Fest Award.
