Tony Bellew was born in Liverpool, Merseyside, England on November 30, 1982. He is known for his nickname Bomber. He is a three-time ABA Heavyweight Champion.
Bellew had a 40 – 7 record as an amateur boxer. His notable achievements before he turned pro was winning the Amateur Boxing Association titles in 2002 and 2003.
He became a pro boxer in 2007. In 2010, he won the vacant Commonwealth light-heavyweight title. The next year, he won the British light-heavyweight title. He held the WBC Intercontinental Silver light-heavyweight belt in 2012. In the same year, he won the vacant WBC Silver light-heavyweight title.
He won the WBO International cruiserweight title in 2014. In 2015, he won the vacant European cruiserweight title and the WBC cruiserweight title in 2016.
