Trai Turner was born as Trai Denzell Turner in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 14, 1993. He was a third round, the 92nd overall pick of the Carolina Panthers in the 2014 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year contract with the Panthers in 2014 and signed a contract extension for four years worth $45 million in 2017. He was a Pro Bowl selectee for three years from 2015 to 2017. He serves as a guard for the Panthers.
He went to Louisiana State University. During his freshman year, he was redshirted and played 12 games. Turner still had two-year eligibility in LSU, but he decided to forego it and enter the NFL draft during his sophomore year. While in college, he was a second-team All-SEC.
