Trampled By Turtles Bio
Trampled by Turtles is a five-piece bluegrass band from Duluth, MN. The band consists of Dave Simonett, Tim Saxhaug, Dave Carroll, Erik Berry, and Ryan Young. They have released eight studio albums on BanjoDad Records. Their 2010 release, Palomino, remained in the Top 10 on the Billboard bluegrass charts for 52 weeks, peaking at number 1. Their following release, 2012’s Stars and Satellites, also hit number 1 on the same chart. Trampled by Turtles is know for their festival performances at music festivals including Coachella, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Bumbershoot, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits. The band lists Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Ralph Stanley, and Townes Van Zandt among their major influences. Trampled by Turtles has been praised for bridging the gap between bluegrass’ more traditional roots and modern music.
