Travis Kalanick American entrepreneur and businessman best known as the co-founder of Uber. He was born in Los Angeles, California, United States, on August 6, 1976.
Travis co-founded Uber in 2009 alongside Garrett Camp and served as the company's CEO until 2017. Prior to founding Uber, Kalanick co-founded several other technology companies, including Scour, a peer-to-peer file-sharing service, and Red Swoosh, a file-sharing company that was acquired by Akamai Technologies. He also worked as an engineer for several other companies, including Intel and IBM. In addition to his work in the technology industry, Travis is also an active investor and has invested in several startups, including Hyperloop One and City Storage Systems.
He also founded a new venture fund called 10100 in 2018, which focuses on investing in real estate, e-commerce, and innovation in China and India.
