TV on the Radio formed in 2001 in Brooklyn, New York as an Indie-rock band by visual artists David Sitek and Tunde Adebimpe. After a first self-recorded effort, the group made a debut with label Touch & Go in 2003 titled Young Liars, featuring Brian Chase from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. A first LP called Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes went out 2004, after which the band toured the U.S. with bands like The Pixies. That same year they were also awarded the New Health Rock EP Shortlist Music Prize. In Return to Cookie Mountain, the group had David Bowie as a guest backing vocalist in 2006. By their fifth album Seeds in 2014, the band collaborated with Jaleel Bunton, Kyp Malone, and David Andrew Sitek.
