Twenty One Pilots is an American alternative pop-rock band formed in 2009 in Columbus, Ohio, consisting of vocalist/keyboardist Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun. In 2015 they won the Grammy Award in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category for their single “Stressed Out”, included in that same year's LP Blurryface, a multi-platinum certified album. The group made their debut with a self-released, self-titled album in 2009 before garnering a social-media following. By their third album Vessel (2013) the band had signed with Atlantic’s indie-oriented subsidiary Fueled by Ramen and worked with Adele’s producer Greg Wells. This recording featured the singles “House of Gold,” “Holding on to You,” and “Car Radio”. For 2015’s Blurryface they worked with multiple producers and recorded in Los Angeles and London. In 2018, the title track to their fifth full-length album “Trench” reached #1 on Billboard’s Alternative Rock chart.
