Twisted Sister Bio
Twisted Sister is an American heavy metal band formed in 1973 in New Jersey by guitarist Jay Jay French and a handful of musicians, later adding frontman Dee Snider, Eddie Ojeda, and Mark Mendoza. After their modest first full-length debut Under the Blade, the band achieved commercial success with follow-up Atlantic albums You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll and Stay Hungry in 1983 and 1984 respectively. The latter’s singles “I Wanna Rock” and “We're Not Gonna Take It” became rock and roll anthems, along with their music videos, and catapulted the band’s glam aesthetic to fame. This success, however, wasn’t sustained, and the band parted ways by 1987. In the ‘90s the band had some hit compilation albums released before reuniting to compose a song for 1998’s horror movie “Strangeland”, written and starred by Snider. The 2000s came along and the band reunited again for some world tours.
