Tyler Hoechlin Bio

Tyler Hoechlin is an American television and movie actor. He was born Tyler Lee Hoechlin on the 11th of September, 1987, in Corona, California, U.S. He began in the entertainment industry very young, and soon he got his first breakthrough when he landed a role on the gangster thriller directed by Sam Mendes “Road to Perdition” in 2002. Hoechlin was nominated for a 2004 Teen Choice Award for Breakout Male Star. He starred in the television series “7th Heaven” and he also did several appearances in other series like “CSI: Miami”, “My Boys” and “Castle”. He also starred in David DeCoteau's “Grizzly Rage”. In 2011, he acted alongside Owen Wilson and Christina Applegate in the comedy movie “Hall Pass”. The same year, Hoechlin landed a role in the series “Teen Wolf”, portraying Derek Hale during four seasons. Hoechlin was cast as Superman on the CW show Supergirl in 2016. He also acted alongside fellow actresses Asa Butterfield, Maisie Williams, and Nina Dobrev in the teen drama “Then Came You” which premiered at the Woodstock Film Festival in 2019.
