Ugly God Bio

Royce Davison, who goes by the moniker Ugly God, was born on September 19th, 1996 in Houston, Texas.  While studying to become a computer engineer at the University of Southern Mississippi, he began to rap for fun and soon fell in love with the art form. Growing up he listened heavily to the Ying Yang Twins and R. Kelly and cites their influences in his music.

He released his first single in 2014 and formed the music group The Little Dick Clique while in university. The song “I Beat My Meat” was released on SoundCloud and was removed multiple times due to user complaints of its absurd nature. Multiple uploads of the song by fans allowed the track to go viral and garnered Ugly God national attention. He collaborated with Carnage, Lil Yachty and Famous Dex on the track “RARI” and was also featured on Lil Pump’s single “Gang Shit.”

In 2016 his track “Water” was picked up for distribution by the label Asylum. The song debuted at the number 100 spot on Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number 80. XXL magazine named him one of “2017’s Freshman Class.” Asylum signed Ugly God to a record deal and he then released his first mixtape, The Booty Tape, in 2017 which peaked in the top 30 of the Billboard 200.
