Umphrey’s McGee is an American experimental rock and jam band formed in 1997 in South Bend, Indiana by keyboardist Joel Cummins, bassist Ryan Stasik, drummer Mike Mirro, and guitarist Brendan Bayliss. Shortly after the release of their first studio album, Greatest Hits, Vol. 3, the band recruited Jake Cinniger and Andy Farag. Upon the release of a live performance album, the group moved to Chicago, where they shared the stage with Béla Fleck and Topaz. A studio album called Local Band Does O.K. came out in 2002, as well as a live performance DVD. Their third studio album Safety in Numbers reached the Billboard's albums chart in 2006. The London Session was recorded in London’s famous studio Abbey Road Studios. Umphrey’s has covered songs by a number of contemporary artists, including the Beatles “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)”.
