Usain Bolt Bio

Usain Bolt was born in Trelawny, Jamaica on August 21, 1986. During the 2008 Olympic Games held in Beijing, China he won three gold medal by breaking the record for the 100-meter and 200-meter race. He was the first person to win both events.

In the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, he broke the record for men’s 100-meter race and three gold medals. In the 2016 Summer Games, he won three gold medals for 100-meter, 200-meter, and the 4×100-meter relay. He won nine gold medals during his Olympic career.

He is the recipient of the Laureus Sportsman of the Year, IAAF World Athlete of the Year, and the Track & Field Athlete of the Year. In 2017, he placed third in the World Athletics Championships. He announced his retirement in August of that year.
