Vanic Bio

Vanic, born Jesse Hughes on May 6th, 1989 in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada is a Canadian DJ and music producer. He began to play the piano at the age of four and develop an interest in the genre of metal.  As a producer he mainly focuses on the genres of future bass, trap, hardstyle, and house.  He began producing music after dropping out of university. Vanic gained critical acclaim for remixing songs for artists such as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lana Del Rey, and Birdy.

In 2014 Vanic was a featured artist on Machineheart’s song “Circles.”  The song received over 1 million streams in two weeks. In 2016 he signed a record deal with Disruptor Records. He released his debut single for the label entitled “Samurai” soon afterwards. In January 2017 he released the song “Too Soon” featuring Maty Noyes. The song gained 740,000 streams in the U.S. and sold 1000 downloads in the first week.  The single then debuted on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Songs chart at number 40. Later in the year he released a new single called “Staring At the Sun” featuring Clara Mae.
