Vanilla Fudge is an American rock band that was formed in 1966 in Long Island, New York. The band’s original composition consisted of vocalist Mark Stein, bassist Tim Bogert, guitarist Vince Martell, and drummer Carmine Appice. The band's music style is an original mix between psychedelia and heavy metal.
It released its first album titled Vanilla Fudge in 1967, which managed to rank 6th on US Top 200 and earned the Gold certification. The album was followed by four more albums which also made it to the US Top 200 before the band disbanded in 1970. The band then was brought together by periods of time, including between 1982 and 1984, 1987 and 1988, 1991 and 1999 to date. Among the band's most famous singles the song “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” stands out, which was in the Top 10 in Canada, the United States, and Australia.
