Verbal is a Japanese Korean hip-hop artist, rapper and record producer. His real name is Ryu Young Ki and he was born on the 21st August, 1975 in Tokyo, Japan. His family is from Korea. He debuted in 1998 as a member of the group m-flo, alongside Takahashi Taku and LISA. The band got very successful in 2000 and 2001 with the hits "How You Like Me Now?" and "Come Again", selling more than 500 000 copies and totaling more than 30 million views on YouTube. They have collaborated with many artists, like J Balvin in 2019 with the song “Human Lost”. Verbal is also part of the band Teriyaki Boyz. The debut album of the Teriyaki Boyz named “Beef or Chicken” was produced by Def Jam Recordings and (B)AOPE Sounds. Verbal debuted as a soloist in 2011 with the album VISIONAIR and he has collaborated with great J-Pop artists, such as Amuro Namie and Koda Kumi. Verbal is also part of the bands Honest Boyz, PKCZ and MIC Banditz. Verbal is also involved in the fashion sphere, as he is the co-founder of Ambush Design Company, a very successful jewelry label.
