Victor Lemonte Wooten was born on September 11, 1964 in Mountain Home, Idaho. He started playing music with his brothers at a very young age and was part of their band, The Wooten Brothers Band. He is most known for playing Fodera basses, and he even has his own model of it. He has released several solo songs as well as collaborated with other popular groups such as Bass Extreme, Vital Tech Tones, The Wootens, Greg Howe, and most prominently with Béla Fleck and the Flecktones.
Wooten spends a lot of time working at Victor Wooten’s Center for Music and Nature, which is a music program on a huge piece of land in Tennessee. Students come and learn music in the spring and summer months to learn all kinds of different instruments. Wooten also works at the Berklee Summer Bass Workshop in Boston, Massachusetts.
