Vlade Divac was born in Prijepolje, Serbia on February 3, 1968. He has been part of the 2001 all-star games and he also won the 1999-00 J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award. He was part of the first team All-Rookie for the 1989-90 season. He was the first round, 26th overall pick of the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1989 NBA draft. From 1990 to 1996, he played for the Los Angeles Lakers. In 1996, the Lakers traded him to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Kobe Bryant. He became a free agent in 1999, and he decided to play for Sacramento Kings. In 2004, after his contract with the Kings expire, he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. He announced his retirement in 2005 after 16 years in the NBA. The Kings retired his jersey No. 21 in 2009.
