Wally Pfister is an American cinematographer and director, who was born on July 8th, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States of America. He is a well-known name in the film and cinematography industries in the United States. Wally worked on both "The Dark Knight Trilogy" and "Inception," two critically acclaimed films that are widely credited with contributing to the director’s meteoric ascent to popularity. His first feature picture, "Transcendence," which he directed and starred in alongside Johnny Depp, was released the same year. Since 2002, Pfister has been a member of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC), and since 2011, he has been a member of the British Society of Cinematographers (BSC). Moreover, Pfister won the Academy Award for "Best Cinematography" owing to the work he did on the film "Inception."
