Walshy Fire Bio
Walshy Fire is an energetic and interactive MC and DJ in reggae dancehall culture. Alongside fellow DJs Jillionaire and Diplo, he fronts the Major Lazer electronic dance trio. The Jamaican-born, Florida-raised Walsh founded Major Lazer in 2012 and has since released a number of albums, EPs, and singles, including “Free the Universe” and “Peace Is the Mission.” The group also hosts the Lazer Sound program on Apple Music’s Beats 1 program.
Walshy Fire also works as resident DJ/MC for Miami clubs, innovating his own style he calls “Rum & Bass” which mixes world beat music with a carnival atmosphere. His aggressive, low-brow style is sure not to lose even the densest of crowds.
