We Came As Romans is an American hardcore and emo band formed in Troy, Michigan in 2005 by Guitarist Joshua Moore, bassist Andy Glass, drummer Eric Choi, guitarist Lou Cotton, and vocalists David Stephens and Kyle Pavone. They achieved notoriety opening concerts for bands like Our Last Night, Gwen Stacy, and The Number Twelve Looks Like You. Their first EP titled Dreams was released for free in 2008 and saw over 50,000 downloads within a week. Their full-length debut To Plant a Seed went out in 2009 with Equal Vision Records. After touring the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia, a second LP titled Understanding What We've Grown to Be was released. The album garnered good reviews and reached the 21st spot on the Billboard 200. The band carried on with two more studio albums before vocalist Pavone passed away in 2017.
