Wesley Carter Welker, better known as Wes Welker, is an American retired professional football player and coach who played as a wide receiver in the NFL. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States, on May 1, 1981.
Wes spent his formative years playing for Heritage Hall School and Texas Tech University, and he turned professional in 2004 when he joined the San Diego Chargers (now Los Angeles Chargers). He went on to represent the Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, St. Louis Rams, and New England Patriots, and throughout his time with the Patriots, Wes played alongside Rob Gronkowski, Tom Brady, Andre Carter, and Vince Wilfork.
His career highlights include 5 Pro Bowls, being NFL receptions leader in 2007, 2009, and 2011, New England Patriots All-Dynasty Team, and the shared NFL record for longest receiving touchdown.
Wes has since been an offensive and wide receivers coach with Miami Dolphins, the San Francisco 49ers, and Houston Texans.
