Hailing from Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands, Weval is the musical brainchild of Dutch music producers and DJs Harm Coolen and Merijn Scholte Albers.
Founded by the talented duo in 2010, their journey began amidst the backdrop of the film industry, where they initially crossed paths. Quickly recognizing their shared passion for music, they embarked on a collaborative musical endeavor that would come to define their careers. Characterized by an innovative blend of alternative electro music, Weval's sound is a testament to their commitment to crafting distinctive compositions. Their sonic palette seamlessly merges high-energy electronic funk with poignant synth arrangements, underpinned by bold melodies and compelling songwriting.
In 2013, Weval made waves with the release of their debut single "The Most," swiftly followed by their inaugural studio project, the EP "Half Age." Their ascent to prominence continued with a string of hit songs including "Gimme Some," "Thinking Of," "Should Be Fine," "Easier," and "The Weight." With a discography boasting critically acclaimed albums such as "Weval," "The Weight," and "Remember," Weval remains at the forefront of the contemporary electronic music scene.
