Winger is an 80s rock band, formed in 1986 by a former member of Alice Cooper's band, Kip Winger. The band became known for combining elements of glam metal and progressive metal. Besides Winger, the band includes guitarist Reb Beach, bassist Paul Taylor, and drummer Rod Morgenstein. They initially performed under the name Sahara.
Their self-titled debut album, released through Atlantic Records, in 1988, sold a million copies worldwide. Their second album titled In the Heart of the Young, released in 1990, was also very successful. The band toured with bands like Kiss, Scorpions, ZZ Top, Extreme, and Slaughter. However, Winger disbanded in 1994, and Kip Winger launched a solo career. The band reunited in 2001 and later released their sixth studio album, Better Days Comin', in April 2014.
