The iconic Winona Ryder, was born as Winona Laura Horowitz in Minnesota on the October 29th, 1971. Ryder showed interest in acting at a young age and took acting classes at the American Conservatory Theater. Stepping onto the scene in the late 80’s, Winona scored a string of now iconic roles in Beetlejuice, Heathers, Edward Scissorhands, Little Women, Dracula, and Girl, Interrupted. Her diverse range and extensive resume have scored her many awards over the years, including a star on the Walk of Fame, the Peter J. Owens Award, a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for her role in The Age of Innocence, several Oscar nominations, a SEFCA Award, and many more. While most remember her for her earlier work, Ryder’s work in Stranger Things has seen her take on another iconic role, with nothing but praise for her outstanding performance as Joyce Byers. The show has taken home a slew of awards, most notably a SAG award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Winona has shown no signs of slowing down from her early appearance in the cult-hit Friends, to her appearances in Star Trek, Black Swan and Drunk History, to her recurring roles in Show Me a Hero, and The Plot Against America.
