Coming from Orebro, Sweden, Witchcraft was found in 2000. by Magnus Pelander. Originally, Pelander wanted to record a single as a tribute for Bobby Liebling and Roky Erickson of Pentagram. To do this, he collaborated with John Hoyles, Ola Henriksson, and Jens Henriksson, finishing the single “No Angel or Demon” released through Primitive Arts Records back in 2002.
After a year, Witchcraft was reformed with Jonas Arnesen, releasing their EP debut. The album has certain feels like that of Pentagram and Black Sabbath. Then in 2005, “Firewood” was released having the cover of Pentagram’s “When the Screams Come.” Then, “The Alchemist Witchcraft” was released as their third long-player. Their fourth release entitled “Legend” introduced Simon Solomon, Tom Jondelius, and Oscar Johansson as new members.
