Within Temptation Bio
Within Temptation is a Dutch symphonic metal band formed in Waddinxveen in 1996 by guitarist Robert Westerholt and vocalist Sharon den Adel. With the DSFA label, they released their debut full-length album “Enter” in 1996, and started hitting national festivals like the Dynamo Music Festival. After touring Europe and releasing an EP, the band built its own home studio. Their mainstream success came with their second album “Mother Earth”, released in 2000 through Sony Music. A third LP titled “The Silent Force” featured a full orchestra and 80-voice choir lineup, and achieved platinum sales status in 2004. With the American label Roadrunner the band issued a studio album called “The Heart of Everything”, and a live album from a performance in Rotterdam. Songs from their fourth album “The Unforgiving” (2011) were featured on short films. Following albums like “Hydra” (2014) and “Resist” (2019) included cameos by Tarja Turunen, Xzibit, Jacoby Shaddix from Papa Roach, and Anders Fridén from In Flames.
