Wood Harris Bio

Wood Harris' real name or birth name is Sherwin David Harris. Harris was born on 17th October 1969. in Chicago, to Mattie and John Harris. Steve Harris, his older brother, is his only sibling. He went to Northern Illinois University and New York University for his education. Harris married his wife, Rebekah Harris, in 2001. The couple has two children together.


In 1994, Wood Harris made his big-screen debut in the film 'Above the Rim.' After that, he participated in' NYPD Blue,' 'Oz,' and 'Cosby,' among others. In addition, he appeared in the series "New York Undercover" as well as the films "Celebrity" and "The Siege" in 1998. 


Wood appeared in the films' Train Ride,' 'Committed,' 'Hendrix,' and 'Remember the Titans' two years later. Soon after, he was cast in the cult classic film 'Paid in Full' and the TV show 'The Wire.'


Then, in 2005, he was cast in the film 'Dirty.' Harris appeared in the movie Southland Tales and 'The Heart Specialist' the following year. "Not Easily Broken," "Dough Boys," "Next Day Air," and "Just Another Day" are movies he starred in following the "Southland Tale" and "The Heart Specialist" gig.


In 2010, he made guest appearances in the dramas' Southland' and 'Hawaii Five-0'. In addition, the American actor starred in the films 'The Babymakers' and 'Dredd' in 2012 and also made appearances in the documentary 'Benji' the same year.


Following that, he starred in the 2013 film 'The Watsons Go to Birmingham.' Harris then went on to play Jay in the TV series 'Justified' in 2014. Following that, he was cast in the flicks 'Ant-Man' and 'Creed.' In 2016, he played Barry Fouray in the television series 'The Breaks.' 


Wood also made appearances in the miniseries 'The New Edition Story' and the films 'Once Upon a Time in Venice,' '9/11,' and 'Blade Runner 2049' a year later.
