Wovenwar Bio
Wovenwar is a heavy metal band reformed from the remnants of San Diego metal band As I Lay Dying, which had to scramble for a new lead after the departure of former frontman Tim Lambesis. Their new line-up is new frontman Shane Blay (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), also of the bands Oh Sleeper and Between the Buried and Me, and Nick Hipa (lead guitar), Josh Gilbert (bass guitar), and Jordan Mancino (drums).
Wovenwar’s style is a hard-edged metalcore / speed metal sound, shifting away from the screamo style they had under their former frontman in favor of melodic vocals. They’ve cut two albums as of this writing: self-titled debut (2014) and “Honor Is Dead” (2016), both of which scored top-10 on the Billboard US Hard Rock charts as well as making a notch on other charts.
