Y2K is the stage name of Air David Starace, an American songwriter, record producer and DJ. He was born on the 27th of July, 1994, in Scottsdale, Arizona, U.S. His interest in music started at a very young age, and his earliest musical influences were bands like Gorillaz and Tears for Fears. As a teenager, his interest shifted towards indie rock and bands like My Chemical Romance. He began working as a music producer, and Californian rapper Lil B introduced him to Michael Volpe, a music producer who has worked with artists like ASAP Rocky, Vince Staples and Mac Miller, among others. In 2018, he released a string of collaborations like “Money Conversation” alongside bbno$ and in 2019, he released his breakthrough single “Lalala” featuring bbno$. The single was certified gold and double-platinum, besides making it to international charts.
