Kathy Yaeji Lee, best known as Yaeji, is a Korean-American singer, electronic music artist and producer. She was born on the 6th of August, 1993, in Queens, New York City, in a family originally from Korea. When she was in third grade, she moved to South Korea, studying at international boarding schools. In her early twenties, she moved back to New York City pursuing a musical career. She began performing at local bars and venues before quickly becoming one of the most in-demand DJs of New York. She performs her own vocals, in a very experimental manner, and some have compared their style to the likes of Billie Eilish. Yaeji’s unique mix of pop, dance, and minimal techno has earned her a solid fan base across the world, besides earning the support of critics.
