Yunalis Mat Zara’ai, AKA Yuna, was born on November 14, 1986 in Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia. As a teenager she began her career by learning guitar, writing songs, and putting her performances up on her MySpace page. This led to her being signed by the Fader label. She had also auditioned to be on the show One in a Million. She made it to the Top 40 and then got let go.
She has five Malaysian albums: Yuna, Decorate, Terukir Di Bintang, Yuna Live at Istana Budaya with National Symphony Orchestra, and Material. She also has five International albums: Decorate, Yuna, Sixth Street, Nocturnal, and Chapters. She has not received any nominations or awards. However, she has been on four US Billboards: US Top Heatseekers AlBUM, us Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, US Adult R&B Songs, and US R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay.
