Yungen Bio
Rapper Yungen was born CJ Brooks in London on February 1, 1992, where he grew up on a housing estate and began rapping at a young age. He dropped his debut mixtape, The New Era Project in 2009 and launched clothing line Forever Yung in 2013.
His 2014 independent release Project Black & Red featured such artists as Wretch 32, Konan and Sneakbo and was well received. In 2015, he was nominated for Best Newcomer at the MOBO (Musicians of Black Origin) Awards in his native England and was signed to Sony RCA Records soon after.
In 2016, he volleyed diss tracks with fellow London rapper Chip, which gained them both more mainstream attention. Yungen released popular single “Bestie” (ft. Yxng Bane) in 2017.
