Zach Werenski is a distinguished American professional ice hockey player renowned for his defensive prowess in the National Hockey League. He was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, United States, on July 19, 1997.
Werenski's journey to NHL stardom began with his exceptional skills showcased during his amateur career with the United States National Team Development Program (USNTDP). His stellar performances earned him a scholarship to the University of Michigan, where he further honed his craft. Selected eighth overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Werenski quickly made his mark in the league with his remarkable skating ability, offensive instincts, and defensive reliability.
