Jeffery Philip Wielandt, also known as Zakk Wylde, is a guitarist, songwriter, and producer born in Bayonne, New Jersey in 1967. He gained notoriety as the lead guitar player for Ozzy Osbourne’s backing band from 1987 to 1994. After a brief stint leading the band Power & Glory, he embarked on a solo career releasing an acoustic album titled “Book of Shadows” in 1996. Two years later he founded the heavy metal band Black Label Society along with drummer Phil Ondich, guitarist Nick Catanese and bassist John DeServio, a band that would be his main musical outlet. After recording and touring again with Ozzy Osbourne in the early ‘2000s, he was named Most Valuable Guitarist by Guitar World magazine. The artist released some more albums with Black Label Society through the 2010s and in 2016 he released a sequel to his first solo album, titled “Book of Shadows II”.
