Zaya Wade, born as Zion Malachi Airamis Wade on May 29, 2007 in Miami, Florida, USA, is a digital influencer and social media personality most renowned as the trans daughter of retired Miami Heat basketball star Dwyane Wade and Siohvaughn Funches. Zaya rose to fame after coming out as a transgender woman.
When Zion was 8, she told her family she was gay. Dwyane revealed that he had known since Zion was 3 years old. Wade came out as a transgender woman at age 11 in 2019 and proceeded to legally changed her name to Zaya Wade. To enable Zaya to live as her true self, Dwayne and the rest of her family publicly made a public announcement in February 2020.
In the month that followed, Zaya made a red carpet appearance with Dwayne and her stepmom, Gabrielle Union. Since then, Zaya has been recognized as a prominent younger member of the LGBTQ+ community. Her verified Instagram account has over 600k followers.
