Zhala is a Swedish singer, musician and songwriter born in Stockholm, Sweden on August 21, 1987. When she was ten years old she had a part in the CD Perfect! that was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Children category. The CD was a poetry project and was a collection of children’s poems made into music by composer Klas Widen. She went to study at the Los Angeles Music Academy and was able to develop her sound while there. In 2010 she was a background singer for Lykke Li‘s World Tour and had a part in Lykke Lis’s album Wounded Rhymes. She released her first song “Slippin ‘Around” in 2012 and in 2013 she performed her single at several festivals. In 2014 she released her first EP Prophet. She was signed to the label Konichiwa Records and released her first full length studio album in 2015 self-titled Zhala.
