Congo Natty is one of the aliases by which jungle musician, producer and toaster Michael West is known. West was born on August 27, 1965 in London England. From his early career, West appeared under the name Rebel MC. For the release of his second album “Black Meaning Good”, an early 90’s, he already had recognized raggea collaborations, such as those of Barrington Levy, Tenor Fly and Dennis Brown singing and toasting about the reggae-techno rhythms of West, who recovered reggae roots to generate a more modern sound. This album is considered one of the pioneers of the jungle by merging hardcore techno with bass lines of dub modules. Other aliases he used were Conquering Lion, Blackstar, Tribe Of Issachar, X Project or Ras Project. Among his greatest hits are the single “Just Keep Rockin” or “Street Tuff”.
